an image The Children and Community Health Center (CCHC) of McKinney, Texas provides healthcare to the underserved children and adults of McKinney and the surrounding areas. All services are provided free of charge to individuals without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or nationality. The only requirement is that the patient must be unable to access healthcare services through the traditional fee-for-service delivery system.

CCHC was founded on August 2nd, 2004 by Mary Nelle Cummins (pictured left), along with a small group of benefactors. We are affiliated with Volunteers in Medicine founded by Jack B. McConnell, M.D. on Hilton's Head Island, South Carolina. Mother and Daughter

The clinic plays a valuable role in the community providing basic and routine healthcare for uninsured or under insured families in McKinney and surrounding areas.

Please give to CCHC so we can give back to the community.

What does a family do who cannot afford to buy health insurance because they are indigent?

They turn to Children & Community Health Center: the only free indigent health clinic in Collin County.

• Our patients are the working poor, supporting families on an average of $10,000-$25,000 per year.

• In 2011, CCHC provided over 2,500 patient visits to almost 1,000 patients, both children and adults.

• Over 270 volunteer hours per week, almost 14,000 volunteer hours per year, support the part-time nurse practitioners. These volunteers include nurses, student nurses, translators, office staff, doctors and other nurse practitioners.

• To continue that service in 2012 we need your help. Will you consider CCHC as you make your holiday donations for 2011? Give this Holiday!

Have a Merry Christmas and
a Happy New Year.

VOLUNTEER AT CCHC--A PLACE TO COME TO WORK AND HELP OTHERS

If you are looking for a new way to help others, come to CCHC. Volunteers are a major part of our clinic. We depend on volunteers to manage the office, see patients, translate and do the 101 things that need to be done on a daily basis in a basic health care clinic.

No, you won’t see any surgeries or even stitching of minor wounds. But you will see people hurting from basic illnesses. You’ll see smiles and tears, knowing that you are making a difference in someone’s life.

New Patients

If you are not currently a registered patient, you may call on Tuesdays between 9:30 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. to request appointments for that week. If no appointments are available for the week, you will have to call again the following Tuesday. In an effort to keep the phone lines open, we ask that you only call on Tuesdays.
